Hiroshi Sugimoto

For over thirty years Hiroshi Sugimoto creates extremely fascinating, enigmatic photographic images. Disconnect from the reality of the photograph requirement and paste it into an artistic reflection on time, transience and memory. "My concern is," says the artist in 2002, "with the means of photography, an ancient stage of human memory make it visible." Sugimoto is formally very thought-reduced images in which he investigates the nature of photography as well as basic phenomena of human experience.
