Glen Rubsamen

The American painter Glen Rubsamen (*1957) has been represented in the Düsseldorf gallery COSAR for 25 years. His colorful works, mostly painted in Los Angeles, reflect the medium of painting on the border to photorealism. With his very intense paintings of the suburban landscape in combination with the colorful sky during sunset and dawn, Rubsamen attempts to create a plausible image of natural light with the means of painting.

Ralph Goertz met the artist in 2025 at the COSAR gallery before the opening of his exhibition “MOM-POP-CAPITALISM” in Düsseldorf.
